Stud
- Earrings that sit directly on the earlobe, with a post in the back. Usually simple and small. Stud earrings are often a classic choice for everyday wear.

Hoop

Drop
Earrings that drop below the earlobe, often featuring a dangling element that moves as you do.

Dangle
Similar to drop earrings, but often longer and more elaborate, dangling freely beneath the earlobe.
